Here are a few stories to read this Tuesday morning.
- NetGalley’s parent company has been sold – the new owner also owns Edelweiss.
- This is going to be a fun way to torture people – Bastardica is a font foundry for warped fonts (for example, there’s a Times New Roman font variant there where every 7th character is Arial).
- According to the Canadian gov’t, AI-generated works are not eligible for an ISBN. Does anyone know when they set this policy?
- Amazon just launched a new Kindle.
- Facebook is now reportedly charging if you share more than 2 links a month on your page. I haven’t encountered this; have you?
-
This should have been obvious from the get go, but the Third Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that training AI on a competitor’s product and then launching a competing product is not protected under fair use.
