Here are a few stories to read this Monday morning.

  • Amazon is now paying a 70% royalty on ebooks priced up to $12.99 (the old limit was $9.99).
  • The LA Times raises concerns about fewer kids reading for pleasure.
  • Benjamin Hollon wants people to stop asking writers what they think about AI. I get asked that question, too; my answer is that I am more concerned about DIY platforms rendering me redundant, and that was already happening in some niches.
  • Anne R Allen shares ten tips for getting your guest blog post accepted.
  • Your book designer really wishes you’d stop messing with the formatting and just write the damned book. I have a similar issue with content given to me by clients; I usually have to strip out nearly all of the formatting and then redo it from scratch using the destination site’s formatting.

P.S. Next weekend I will be in Louisville for Imaginarium.

Hi, I'm Nate.

I build and fix websites for authors, and I am also a tech VA. I can build you a website that looks great and turns visitors into fans, and I can also fix your tech when it breaks. Let me fight with tech support so you don't have to.

My blog has everything you need to know about websites and online services. Don't see what you need. or want personalized help? Reach out.
