Here are a few stories to read this Monday morning.

  • The British Museum got caught posting AI slop on Instagram.
  • Jonathan Bailey has a point when he says that anyone who uses AI without disclosing it is a plagiarist.
  • Draft2Digital now distributes to Bookshop.org.
  • I am quite happy writing on my iPad with a BT keyboard, but I have to say that I am seriously tempted by the Zerowriter Ink word processor.
  • Spotify is also partnering with Bookshop.org to sell print books, and just announced a sync feature for audiobooks and ebooks.
  • The Atlantic’s hand-wringing over the death of the Washington Post’s book section is ridiculous. It is to be regretted, but it’s not the death of the literary ecosystem(paywalled). The simple truth is that (like many things) the audience for book reviews has fragmented to the degree that newspapers can’t support them with ads. That audience didn’t die; it’s just gone elsewhere.

P.S. If you find yourself frustrated by paywalls on news articles, did you know you can often bypass them by saving the article to your Instapaper account?
